(DPF) WHAT IS A DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER?
Diesel particle filter system has been designed to reduce exhaust emissions such as hydrocarbons (HC), carbon monoxide (CO), particles and to meet emissions regulation. It filters by collecting soot particles from engine exhaust gases in order to minimize disposal of soot into the air. It has been made of silicon carbide (SIC), coated with noble metal. It consists of a honeycomb shaped ceramic body located in the metal casing.
Caution: If soot sediment is collected in the DPF, the performance of the engine may decrease.
